Priceline Haircare Goodie Bag 2015

Priceline offers several goodie bags every year and the 1st one for 2015 is the haircare goodie bag.  Spend $40 or more on hair care products by participating brands and you get a goodie bag worth over $190. This offer starts today until 25th of February or until stocks last.

I needed to buy or try some hair care products so this is the best time to buy them! I love goodie bags and these are one of my exclusions for my spending ban. I think getting items that you need for free is worth it! :)

Here's the goodie bag:

It's not that heavy but the items inside are wonderful!

It comes in a Models Prefer bag and the color combo is my fave! I absolutely love black and pink combo and even though it has silver in the middle, I still think it's cute! Although I like it, I told my mom I'll give her the bags every time I get a goodie bag so this will have a new owner soon.

Here's a closer look at what you can get inside the goodie bag.

And, here's the items I got:

It comes with a voucher for Solfine Crema Color and Revlon Colorsilk wherein you can choose the shade you want which I think is really nice than just randomly getting a color shade that you don't like. As you can see, I have already redeemed those vouchers as I want to color my hair this weekend and I haven't tried Solfine before mainly because the packaging is dull and not eye catching but I was actually quite surprised that they have a nice range of hair color and much nicer than those from the bigger brands! I'll be trying the Ginger blonde shade so stay tuned how it will turn out on my hair! For the Revlon Colorsilk, I chose medium brown which I will be giving to my mom.  There's actually just a few boxes of Revlon Colorsilk in my Priceline so you may want to redeem yours quickly to avoid getting the leftovers.

I also got the ridiculously red Lady Jayne hair extension in Raging Red! It doesn't look like a natural dyed hair and looks more like a red wig that you can buy from a $2 shop! I don't use hair extensions so I'll just give that away. For the rest, I'll add it to my growing stock of hair care products or give the rest that I can't use to my mom and family.

L'oreal Elvive Total Repair 1 Minute Miracle Treatment sample 20ml valued at $0.73
Lady Jayne Hair Extensions 30cm Highlight in Raging Red  $19.99
Scunci Hair Chalk 2pc pack

I can't find the Scunci Hair Chalk in the Priceline website so adding up all the items and their worth it's only $132.63.

Maybe they have included the other 2 vouchers worth $10 and $4 so $14 altogether.

It's just a total of $146.63

I don't think they should factor the full price of  the products that needs be bought using the vouchers as it's only a dollar off and you won't get the product for free unlike the hair colour vouchers for Revlon and Solfine.

And, given that I don't know how much the Scunci Hair Chalk, which I don't think will be worth $30 or more, it still won't be worth more than $190 as they claim.

I know there will be discrepancies but even if it's not worth more than advertised I'm still okay with the contents of the goodie bag. It's still worth more than $100 and getting the items for "free" is enough to make me happy! :)

Now, let me show you what I bought to qualify for the goodie bag.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea Salt Spray  $16.99
L'oreal Preference Black Pearls in Deep Purple Pearl  sale price $13.99
L'oreal Elvive Colour Protectant Conditioner  sale price $4.16
Schwarzkopf Extra Care Marakesh Oil & Coconut Conditioner  sale price $5.59
Total = $40.73

I've always wanted to try a sea salt spray so this was the first thing I picked up.  I also bought the L'oreal hair colour as that's the most striking permanent hair colour shade that I can see and I want to try something bold and different this year!  The conditioners are a necessity as hubby uses them a lot but I should have bought a much a needed paddle brush instead! Oh well, maybe next time which will be next year unless I get one for free!  :)

I also have some items I needed to get to replace the ones I currently have that's almost used up.

I was supposed to stock up on Head & Shoulders conditioners as that was my hubby's request but unfortunately, it's not included in the participating brands! I also used my $2 off voucher to get the Lux body wash and the rest are obviously necessities.

That's it for today and thanks for stopping by!

What do you think of this year's haircare goodie bag? Was last year's better?
Any thoughts about the value of the items inside the bag?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Keep on smiling!  :)

xoxo Mia

  1. I'm undecided as to whether or not to get this. One thing you forgot: the cost of the tote bag! In showbags, the cost of the cheap tote bag they put it in is usually valued (by them) at around $40-$50. You mentioned there weren't many Revlon Colorsilks left at your Priceline, did it & the Solfine Crema Colour have a voucher with an expiry date on it or did you have to pick one each at the time of purchase?
Good going with the $40.73 qualifying purchase! I always calculate these things in advance too, & I see that you still managed to buy 3 out of your 4 qualifying purchases on sale!
Thanks for doing all that maths for us Smiley.

    1. Sorry for the late reply! I do hope you got yourself a goodie bag! The vouchers do have an expiry date but with the Solfine, it doesn't include the plastic gloves and the oxy, which is the bleaching agent. You have to get it separately and I'm no hairdresser so I obviously don't have any oxy lying around in my house!

    2. And, yes I forgot to factor in the "highly valued" bag! Thanks for reminding me, now I guess it's worth $190! lol

  2. I love the Priceline goody bags, I have gotten their skincare goody bag the last 2 years in a row so I can't wait for it to come out this year!
I can see what you mean about the red hair extension, it would be great if it was a more natural red colour.
Just for your info the hair chalk is worth $17.95:

    1. Thanks for that Scunci price info! It's just weird that they don't have it on their website.
I'm looking forward to the makeup bag this year, hope it's great!
I guess that hair extension will be great for Halloween or dress up days! :p

  3. What a bag of loot! You did a wonderful job of breaking down the cost. I'm going to pass, thankfully, hair products is one thing I don't hoard. I wash my hair once a week so products last ages, and I rarely ever use styling products. Oh, and I only use coconut oil as a treatment.

    1. Just imagine if you're into hair products as well Indie! You'll need an entire room for all your collection! :)
I haven't tried coconut oil as a treatment though, I'm one of the weird ones who don't like the smell!

  6. Hey! Great post, I'm tempted to get it but I'm not sure what products to buy. I nominated you for the Liebster Award here: http://apolaraffliction.blogspot.com/2015/02/liebster-award.html

  7. I didn't end up getting the bag. They didn't have it at the Priceline I normally go to, so I was going to go and get it from another one. Then the voice of reason kicked in and I realised that there aren't $40 worth of products I needed to buy and the bag contained too many things I might have not find suitable for my hair colour - the extension, hair dye etc. so I ended up giving it a miss :)
